California Proposition 65

California law requires us to give this warning for products that may expose California consumers to chemicals the State of California lists as causing cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Many vehicle parts, fluids and components contain such chemicals, so the warning applies to parts we sell or supply.

Proposition 65 is formally the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. It is run by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), which keeps the list of chemicals, now over 900 of them, and sets the wording warnings must use. The warning rules OEHHA adopted in 2016 took effect on August 30, 2018.
